Hi everyone Richard here,

This was an a quick site to get up and running. I'm sure that Steve's will up and running soon as well.

So far so good on the food front. Smile

I am just about to go and see the Chiropractor again to try and get sorted or at ;least some definitive timetable for me to get back exercising. Sad

The photographs were great and bring a smile to my face when needed. clown

YEAH, I've finally made it on here (with an ickle bit of help from Charlie - thank you!)

Hello everyone, have been enjoying seeing all the great photos and hearing everyone's stories since Friday! I have been 'sort of' good, well, had a good weekend (except an Indian meal on Saturday!) but am finding week days slightly harder because all the 'snacks' I bought have been calling me throughout the day, well, shouting to me really Laughing so decided last night that I'm not going to listen to the 'voices' anymore - am abandoning the snacks from now on, just sticking to 3 healthy meals a day, will let you know how I get on......

Has anyone else had the 'snack attack' issues??

Welcome to the TWLR class of march 09 forum! Empty Snack Attack

Post  tracy conabeer Wed Mar 25, 2009 5:29 am

Yes Kate i have the same problem. I thought i could handle having small snacks but with no-one watching over me my portion sizes are a bit bigger than the handful of nuts we were given!!

I bought some lovely Whole Earth peanut butter but am finding I am not sticking to the one teaspoon!! It's just too tempting so i suppose the best way is to just not have it in the house!

I am still searching for the cashew nut butter but cant seem to find it. Has anyone else managed to find any yet please?

Hi guys

Been "quite" good. Went to the gym twice over the weekend and on Tues! Also bought some nice organic fruit and veg (not sure if I'll be able to maintain that due to credit crunch - costly!) Made the beef stew last night - dare I say it - tasted better than Michel's! However I think my portion was too large...ok it was too large - I went back for seconds! Portion size is my big failing - but I'm trying. Been monitoring my blood sugar levels by having my snacks staggered throughout the day - developed a sudden taste for Ryvita slices...seems to be working (no longer hungry or get mid afternoon energy dips) however I know what you mean - hard to pace yourself...I'm just really greedy. Twisted Evil Just trying to build some discipline and structure in my life when it comes to FOOOOD! Suppose it won't happen overnight.
Going boxing tonight - now there's a surprise. Hopefully I'll get back home before Apprentice starts on BBC1!

OH MY GOODNESS,

Did something fall on my head, or did I fall on my head. I paid for a 3 month contract at the Leisure Centre today and it is one of those where you get to use everything, so I think I will try the spa pool......

Not doing toooo great on the food frontier, snacking has been my issue for a long time, WELL FOOD on the whole has been my issue, but I do feel positive that I am going to do better than I did before Fit Farms. Just may take a little longer than most.

Has anyone got Deby's email, she has not responded to any of my voice messages. Do you think that is a sign!

Have a great rest of the day,
Lauren

Steve,

Loving the picture! I can see that you haven't changed much Laughing

Just had a nice poached eggs on brown toast, very nice.

Our kitchen is now overflowing with resealable plastic containers, the idea being that we will have a good cooking session at the weekend (when the real cook is home) then portion it down for the rest of the week. Sounds simple but still experimenting so far. We decided that we wouldn't throw too much away from the freezer so we looked at the labels and kept anything that seemed relatively OK. Just using them up this week, so far so good with the portion sizes. I think this comes from snacking so I don't feel ravenous in the evening.
Managed to keep one container full of mixed nuts and dried fruit for snacks and also one with crushed nuts and mixed seeds. I have got quite used to sprinkling them on my cereal or salad during the day. I am sure that I have made Barbara think that she is hearing things when I told her that I had to go out and buy some more salad Laughing Laughing

Have fun you all
R cheers

Post  Richard L Thu Mar 26, 2009 10:23 am

Hi all,
I hope everything is well in the world of us amauter nutritionists and fitness experts Laughing

I have just paid my latest visit to the chiropractor after having all sorts of scans and x-rays. It would appear that I wouldn't be ableto get an MOT certificate at the moment. On top of the 4 vertabrae out of line, the misaligned hip and the fallen arches I now, apparently, have problems with my posture which is not helping my back.

Basically I am ready for the knackers yard. I bet Barbara is checking the insurance as we speak Laughing

Anyway the upshot of all this is that I can't exercise for at least 2 weeks and I need to visit them 3 times a week for this 2 week period. They suggested i might need to change my diet so I 'educated' them to the point that they think I know enough about nutrition. All I need now is to use this knowledge to get rid of some weight without exercise. Question

Glad to hear that you all seem to be 'keeping it real' and not going overboard. I am doing well with the food so far but it is slightly easier for me as I have the whole day to myself.

Altogether now after 3, 1....2....3 Very Happy

Cheers

tongue Aagh!!! wounded to the quick! Suspect

I don't know how anyone could think that about me?!?!? Rolling Eyes

If it wasn't for my back I would have probably walked around the world by now... NOT!! Exclamation

My excuse, apart from the back, is that I am currently checking out various routes that may or may not be utilised in the near future. I am looking for routes that are all downhill!! Idea

I off to watch daytime telly now and dream of exercise, that almost magical 'wake up workout' and those lovely country walks.

Have fun you all

Welcome to the TWLR class of march 09 forum! Empty GYM - why did I do it!

Post  Lauren Davie Thu Mar 26, 2009 11:07 am

Hello all,

Went off to the Leisure Centre....what a stupid name for a workout place!

Anyway, plodded along on the ABS and stretch, did the Yoga and then the Pilates class....kind of at my pace. After that I had a Kinetica assessment thingy with a trainer. She weighed and measured and told me I have to do 10 mins on the walking machine, 10 on the bicycle and 10 on the cross trainer.....I nearly passed out BEFORE 5 mins on the walking machine was up....what a joke. I think she realised that asking me to ACTUALLY do 10 minutes there and then would NOT be a good idea. I get the feeling that she is convinced that I will not make it through the 5 meetings....so I doubt she will be putting much effort into my progress.

Richard, I remember watching Extreme Makeover and the woman had had a tummy tuck so she could not do exercise, I am sure I remember the trainer saying that 80% of the loosing was food so she should not worry too much about missing out on the exercise. You can still do it!

Big hugs to all,
Lauren

Hi Steve and anyone else that is still with us,

Still going strong so far. I am sticking to a diet that at last seems to suit me. So much so that for the first time in many years I am now below 12 stone, only by 1/2 a pound but still below cheers . I tend to exercise when I can which is, on average, about 2/3 times a week.

My back seems to be finally getting better although I still have regular visits to the chiropractor.

My new business officialy starts on Monday so I have been preparing for that. If anyone knows someone who has their own busines and may be having Human Resource problems then please let them know about me. To check out what I am doing go to the website www.hrdept.co.uk, I am not on the website just yet (that happens next week sometime) but it does give an idea of what I will be doing. bounce

Barbara is off on her travels again she now flies to Glasgow on a Monday morning (guess who takes her to the airport Rolling Eyes ) and flies back on Friday evening.

All in all things seem to be going reasonably well apart from I fell of the no smoking wagon Sad However I expect to get back on that particular wagon at some stage.

The weather looks good for the weekend so all enjoy Very Happy

Regards
